Getting to Know Your Fairboard

Over the next few months we will be getting to know a little more about the people elected to serve the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society. We will start with this year's Executive Committee. Keep checking back for new information and fun facts!

  • Bud Lahmers has been on the Tuscarawas County Fairboard for over 30 years. During this time, he has served on numerous committees. He is most known for his work on the Concessions and Harness Racing committees. On April 6, 2013, the Greater Ohio Showmen's Association named Bud the "2012 Concession Manager of the Year." CONGRATULATIONS BUD LAHMERS!
  • The Secretary/Treasurer of the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society is Leigh Maple. Leigh is enjoying her second year working with the Fairboard. She loves every part of the fair. Leigh would like for the community to get to know the "people behind the scenes." Keep checking our website and facebook page as we will introduce some of these people over the next few months.
  • The 2013 Third Member of the Executive Committee is Rodney Gordon. Rodney owns and operates Gordon Milk Transport. He and his wife, Deb, have been heavy supporters of the 4-H program for many years. Their children, Samantha, Drew, and Craig have grown up in the program, and continue to be involved by encouraging the next generation. Rodney's favorite part of the Fair is watching the 4-H and FFA youth work with their animals. He believes being on Fairboard is a great learning experience. People would be surprised to know that Rodney was never in 4-H as a young man. Rodney would like the public to get to know more about our youth and the projects that they are involved in, so stay tuned as we work with the 4-H Extension Office to gain some insight into our Tuscarawas County 4-H Youth.
  • The 2013 Senior Fairboard Vice President is Kevin Hursey. Kevin resides in Washington Township with his wife Shannon. They have a son and daughter that have grown up in the 4-H program. Kevin's favorite part of the fair is meeting people and catching up with friends that you only seem to see once a year. His favorite duty on the Fairboard is being on the Truck & Tractor Pull Committee. Kevin believes people would be surprised to know how many people work behind the scenes, asking nothing in return, to ensure a successful Fair.
  • The 2013 Senior Fairboard President is Todd Kendle. Todd resides in New Philadelphia with his wife Chris, and two daughters. Todd's favorite part of the Fair is interacting with the 4-H & FFA Youth. He believes that the Junior Fair is an integral part to Fairweek and values the support of the 4-H Extension program. Todd's favorite duty on the Fairboard is organizing the Truck & Tractor Pulls. People would be surprised to know that he is calm and easy going.Todd invites you to check out the Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association website.
